MINUTES OF SELECTMEN MEETING – May 15, 2017 4:00 PM

Granville vs. Southwick Tolland Granville Regional School District. “Findings of Fact and Rulings of Law” Granville asserted that the School District breached the Regional School Agreement by voting to close the Granville Village School without engaging in the process mandated by the Agreement.
Granville immediately sought preliminary injunctive relief and moved for an expedited hearing. The court ordered an advanced and speedy trial on the merits pursuant to Mass R. Civ.P.65(b)(2) on Court II seeking injunctive relief. A trial was held on May 1 and 2, 2017.
The court finds and holds that Southwick Tolland Granville Regional School District has complied with all the provisions of the Regional Agreement except for School Committee decision concerning the timing of the proposed closure of the Granville Village School.
The parties are ordered to appear on May 19, 2017 at 11:00AM to discuss and present arguments on the requested remedy; or the election of a remedy; and other aspects concerning the orderly disposition of the case.
Wes requested vehicle specifications on Tolland’s Volunteer Fire Department’s Tanker.
Wes also asked for the timeline for the repair/paving of Colebrook River Road from Rivers Road to Burt Hill Road. Board stated paving of Colebrook River Road is scheduled until Fiscal 2019 due to the completion of Burt Hill Road.
Lastly, Wes requested a water flow issue be looked at on the roadside of Route 57 near the dwelling owned by Dennis.
The Selectboard will meet on the following dates through the summer months
June 5 & 19, July 10 & 24, Aug 7 & 21 and Sept 18th
